ColorMuse 2 table data entry form
The ColorMuse 2 colorimeter is a great low-cost option for measuring LAB values for linearizing QuadToneRIP inking profiles. The values are almost identical to those measured by the much pricier X-Rite i1 Pro2 and Pro3 spectrophotometers.
The knock on the device is that it is physically fat and chunky and it can be hard to hit the targets exactly. I have created a printing target available here that is a variation of Calvin Grier's 5 x 5 targets that have nice spacious patches for less twitchy measurement of your test wedges.
Note that you do not read patches 1B, 1D, 5B, and 5D. These patches on the first and last row are spaced with a 2.5% gray increment and are there only for you to visually assess how smooth your shadows and highlight are printing. The file created by this program is a 21-step measurement with 5% gray step spacing.
This webpage will allow you to take the LAB measurements from your iPhone or Android device and enter them into this form. Once they are all entered, click the big red "Download Data" button and the text file named "color-muse-data.txt" will appear in your browser's Download folder, ready to use in the QuadToneProfiler programs.
If you want the old version of the widget, you can find it here.
