ColorMuse 2 graphical data entry form

L* data
A* data
B* data

Why?The ColorMuse 2 colorimeter is a great low-cost option for measuring LAB values for linearizing QuadToneRIP inking profiles. The values are almost identical to those measured by the much pricier X-Rite i1 Pro2 and Pro3 spectrophotometers.
The knock on the device is that it is physically fat and chunky and it can be hard to hit the targets exactly. I have created a printing target available in the downloads section of this site that have nice spacious patches for less twitchy measurement of your test wedges.

WarningsThis graphical version of the data entry widget has a few more safeguards than the original on I made a few years back. Because the data is entered one sample at a time and checked on entry, it is less likely you will enter something wonky. That said, if your measurements have extreme curves in them it is possible to generate a file that will blow up QuadToneProfiler-DN. That is why I have the graphical editor that will plot your points and allow you to see garbage data as you enter it.

Instructions

This webpage will allow you to take the LAB measurements from your iPhone or Android device and enter them into this form. Once they are all entered, you can edit them graphically with a mouse by clicking on a point and moving it. Once everything looks great, click the big red Download Data button and the text file named color-muse-data.txt will appear in the browser Download folder, ready to use in the QuadToneProfiler programs.

If you want the old version of the widget, you can find it here.

Sorry!

This data entry form with a mouse-driven graphical editor won't work with chubby fingers on small screens!
